Delete your Motivate Me account and data
Motivate Me, published by PBM Studios
DRAFT. Not yet final. Do not link this page from the store
listing until the checklist in this file's source has been cleared.
You do not need an account to use Motivate Me. If you never signed in, we hold no data about you and
there is nothing for us to delete; removing the app removes what it stored on your phone.
If you signed in with Google, this page explains how to delete your account and profile.
Delete from inside the app
- Open Motivate Me and go to the You screen.
- Tap Delete my data.
- Confirm. If you are signed in, the app deletes your account first and then erases the data on your phone.
Deletion happens straight away. There is no waiting period and nothing to confirm by email.
Delete without the app
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot open it, email
pbm-support@googlegroups.com from the address of the Google account
you signed in with, with the subject “Delete my Motivate Me account”. We will delete your
account and profile and reply to confirm, within 30 days of your request and usually much sooner.
We may ask you to write from the account's own address so that nobody else can delete your account.
What is deleted
- Your profile document in Cloud Firestore: name, how you are addressed, star sign, age band, language, background, your place in the quote order, and the time of the last change.
- Your Firebase account: the Google account identifier, email address, display name and Firebase user id we held for sign-in.
- On your phone (in-app route only): your setup, reminder settings, quote position, Premium note, ad counter and cached content state. Reminders are cancelled.
What is not deleted, and why
- Your Google account itself. We only delete our link to it. Manage it at myaccount.google.com.
- Your Premium subscription. Billing is held by Google Play, not by us. Deleting your data does not cancel it. Cancel under Google Play → Subscriptions, or billing continues.
- Ad data held by Google. We do not hold it. Use your Android ad settings or Google's own privacy tools.
- Backups. Google may keep deleted Firebase data in its own backups for a short period under its own terms. If you used Android backup, delete the backup in your Google account settings too.
If you only want to stop syncing, you can sign out; this keeps the online profile. To remove it, delete as above.
